April 16, 2006: Howie's home
We picked Howie up from the quarantine facility this morning and introduced him to New Zealand. They cautioned us to make him take it easy for the first week as he'll be out of shape (and fat). We took him for a walk in Murphy's Bush, which is a beautiful forest with huge fern trees. He tired pretty quickly, so then it was time to take him home. He seems to like the house and yard, but isn't so sure about the wood floors. Later we went for a walk in the neighbourhood and found our way down to the beach (about 20 min walk).

Here are some photos from our day. As you can see, his fur still hasn't grown back from his ultrasound. I think his coat is a little confused about having two winters in a row.
