We finally got our road bikes out and went for a short ride around our neighbourhood. We biked north through Buckland's Beach to Musick Point. It was sunny and warm and there were a lot of people out on the beach enjoying the day. These pictures are all from our ride.

Everything is so green, even though it really is winter now. We had to mow the lawn again today. It is chilly at night now and we're glad our down comforter has arrived.

On Saturday we walked up to the Howick town centre and had breakfast at a cute little cafe (without having to wait for a table). Then we walked to the library to check it out. The library is small, about the size of the Sidney's, but has a nice selection of NZ fiction and books about sailing and sheep. On the way home we also found a good used book store.

The bump in the distance is Rangitoto. Every time we see the water and the many islands near where we live, we want to go sea kayaking and explore. Maybe in the spring.
